JoAnne teaches orchestration for cinema and composition for media at the Barry R. Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema: CUNY Brooklyn College. Her office is in Steiner Studios in the Navy Yard. If you visit her on a Thursday, you may catch a peek of other happenings around the lot.
She also teaches an introductory course to media scoring at Stevens Institute for Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey.
She also founded and now serves on the board of the Ravel Study Group (New York chapter); to further the plight of film score study among New York musicians and composers.
She is a steering committee member of the Society of Composers and Lyricists in New York.
